The Marketing Copywriter is responsible for producing high-quality, on-time content that promotes TopRank Marketing to existing and prospective clients. This role combines strong human-centered copywriting and marketing expertise with AI-augmented skills for research, ideation, workflow efficiency, and content optimization.
The Marketing Copywriter ensures every asset aligns with strategic objectives, connects with audiences, and drives measurable outcomes.
This is a part-time contract role (50 - 75% commitment) with highly flexible hours. You’ll work directly with the CEO and VP, maintaining consistent monthly hours. The position requires availability for occasional daytime meetings, while the majority of the work can be completed remotely.
This role is 100% remote.
Essential Functions
Content Production
Draft clean, compelling, and well-researched content that:
Demonstrates understanding of objectives
Includes creative narratives in line with brand positioning and audience targeting
Follows TopRank Best Answer Marketing principles
Moves readers to take the desired next steps
Is optimized according to format (website, blog, social, ebook, infographic, video/animation)
Produce copy requiring minimal rounds of internal edits
Draft content for full funnel engagement including blog posts, nurture email campaigns, sales enablement content, ebooks, social promotions, customer marketing and additional marketing assets
As necessary, leverage AI tools to refine and repurpose content into multiple formats (e.g., social snippets, promotional copy, short-form vs. long-form variations)
Content Planning & Research
Develop and document content plans or concepts aligned with the overall marketing strategy
As necessary, interview internal stakeholders and internal or external subject matter experts
Able to use AI tools to:
Conduct background research and surface insights
Brainstorm and ideate content approaches
Analyze performance data to inform content development and optimization
Create repeatable workflows for more efficient content production
Review content deliverables for:
Strategic alignment with objectives
Accurate and appropriate representation of source materials
Optimization for audience, channel, and program strategy
Project Management
Self-manage work and reporting to ensure on-time deliverable completion
Arrive on time and prepared for internal meetings
Take proactive action by communicating opportunities surfaced in relation to content deliverables
Create and manage content calendars and corresponding tasks to adhere to publication deadlines
Use internal meeting grids, project management systems, or personal systems to track relevant insights from internal meetings
Capture information outside of provided source materials that is relevant to or informs content deliverables

What We're Looking For:
3-5 years of agency marketing writing experience
Clear, persuasive copywriting and proven ability to draft content that engages readers to take action
Demonstrated experience using AI tools for research, ideation, workflow development, data analysis, and content repurposing
Fluent in the English language with exceptional grammar and style
